High End Coats Coming Soon to Blondie's Boutique

No pictures available at the moment; but I just struck a deal on 5 high end coats (jackets).

So... my questions are:

  1. Who buys coats on-line in the summertime?
  2. Should I post them; or hold on to them until late Summer early Fall?

Aloha everyone,  I hope those who choose to recognize the Easter Holiday had a wonderful and blessed weekend.  And... if you don't; I also hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Well its been a few days; but I wanted to share a couple of really nice Hawaiian Style shirts I picked up a couple of weeks ago at a really nice church "Recycled Treasure Sale"... just a different name for a rummage sale; but it got my attention.  If you like these you are welcome to check them out on in my "SHOP".

Brands include:  Tori Richards, Island Shores, Boca Classics, and Puritan.
I apologize for the wrinkles and blurriness.

Have a wonderful, blessed week,

Dress to Maxi Skirt - Repost

Hello All, I'm resharing - reposting this thrifted refashion project.  Its that time of year again; where I wear maxi skirts a lot.  Now all  I have to do is find the time to refashion or sew a few more. I hope you enjoy.

Originally posted on 8/13/2013  over at www.blondiesbargains.blogspot.com

Welcome All, I'm excited about my latest refashion project.  Especially since I'm a newbie.  I picked up this dress at Goodwill and posted about that thrift haul last week.  You can read about it here, if you missed it.

Dress - Before
Not a very attractive dress; so I refashioned it into a maxi skirt.

The process was relatively easy even for a beginner.

  • First I put the dress on my newly acquired dressform; and proceeded to cut just below the arm holes.
  • Then I cut a strip of 1/4" elastic about 2" longer than my waist measurement.
  • I tried on the skirt after pinning the elastic to it to see how it fit.
  • I removed the elastic (careful not to let the fabric slip off the dressform by using pins).
  • Then I adjusted the elastic a little and stitched it together.
  • I put the elastic back around the new waist of the skirt; repinned it and stitched it.

And... voila!

Goal for "TOP SELLER" Status

We should all set goals in order to be successful in our endeavors.  I've had unwritten goals in the years past; but never really set myself up for business success.  I've tried, quit, tried, quit more times than I can count.

After working for "the man" for the past 38 years (starting as a teen), I have now set goals in motion to do much better over the coming years (< 5).  Funny how it takes just one (1) person to PUSH SHOVE you into striving harder for your dreams to come true.  I won't get into that; but that's where I am at this point in my life.

First set of goals for Blondie's Boutique is regarding eBay sales and status.
Below copied from ebay.com:

  • Tracking uploaded within stated handling time on 90% of transactions to U.S. buyers
  • $1,000 in annual eBay sales with U.S. buyers
  • On-site activity for more than 90 days
  • 100+ transactions in the past year with U.S. buyers
  • 98% or better positive feedback
  • 0.5% or fewer transactions with low detailed seller ratings (DSRs)
  • 0.3% or fewer eBay and PayPal Buyer Protection closed cases without seller resolution

Bears, Bears, and more Bears

I was on an inventory hunt this weekend and made out pretty well.  I came across a neighborhood garage/yard sale and low and behold a treasure trove of bears.  The folks holding the garage sale were selling off a huge collection that belonged to a close relative.  I'm not sure if the relative passed away; or had been moved into a retirement facility.  Anyway, I thought I'd share some of the bears I picked up at this awesome garage sale.  They will be listed on ebay in coming weeks, or taken to my booth at Fabulous Finds Thrift Store in San Antonio.

Bears weren't all I picked up, but that will be another post.

Guten Tag!

Good Day!

Good day! (The only "girl" in the lot.)

You talkin' to me?

Howdy ya'll!

Should I Stay or Should I Go.....

Well my friends, its been a couple of weeks since I posted anything on either of my blogs.  I've been keeping myself busy in my spare time getting product over to the booth at the thrift store.  I know I've only been there a little over a month and a half; but I guess I was expecting to at least make my rent... so far that's a big fat NO.  So, my question to my readers is:  How long should I continue at a loss?  I feel as if I am paying the store owner to sell my stuff and not get any money in return.  It would probably be cheaper to donate it to charity.

I returned to eBay and have been selling fairly well there.  I'm not going to get rich; but at least I made a profit.

So, this is my thought; give it another month; if I don't at least make my rent - then give the 30 day required notice to vacate.  Then - focus on eBay.

What do you think?  Should I stay or should I go???
